Size Comparison Tool — compare anything to scale

People, animals, cars, planes, buildings, dinosaurs, planets. Pick things, add your own measurements, then download or share the picture.

    How the size comparison works

Everything is drawn to the same scale: the tallest item sets the height of the picture and the others shrink in proportion. Heights are measured from the ground; for animals and vehicles the second number is length. Planets and the Sun use diameter. Library values are typical figures — a real Labrador or a real T. rex varies — so use the custom box when you need an exact number, such as your own height or a specific car.

    Popular comparisons

How tall is a giraffe compared to a person? How long is a blue whale next to a school bus? Would a T. rex fit in a two-storey house? How big is Jupiter compared to Earth? Use the example buttons above or build your own set of up to eight items and share the link.

    Questions

Where do the sizes come from?

Typical adult measurements and published specifications: manufacturer data for vehicles, official heights for buildings and landmarks, NASA figures for planets. Real animals and people vary, so use the custom box for an exact measurement.

Can I compare my own height?

Yes. Type a name and your height in the 'add your own' box, choose Person, and it joins the picture to scale.

How do I share a comparison?

Press 'Share link'. The comparison is stored in the page address, so anyone who opens the link sees the same picture. Nothing is uploaded.

    Can I use the image?

Yes, for school projects, presentations and social posts. A credit to HandyToolkits is appreciated.

    Is it free?

Yes. No account, no limits. The site is paid for by the ads on the page.
